The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Bangladesh Copyright & IP Forum (BCIPF), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 2nd of November (Wednesday), to cooperatively labor in conserving Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regarding software and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
According to the MoU, BASIS and BCIPF will work in conjunction with the government and non-government organizations for the promotion of the country's IT sector, outreach and the necessary laws to safeguard IPR, policy formulation, change or modification, copyright and IPR laws or policies relating to the proper application.
The signatories, along with the relevant stakeholders including Chamber of Commerce, policy makers and other prevailing associated bodies, will undertake to create platform to conduct seminars and workshops for copyright and intellectual property awareness.
Chairman of the Standing Committee of IPR, BASIS Ahmed Hasan and Legal- Director of the Executive Committee of the BCIPF Nahid Hossain signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
BASIS President Mostafa Jabbar, Senior Vice-President Russell T Ahmed, Director Saiful Rahman Sohel, Syed Almas Kabir; as well as the Chief Executive of BCIPF Barrister ABM Hamidul Misbah and others were all present during the signing.
