Ever since that horrific incident in Dhaka on the 1st of July, citizens had been worrying about their security. Meanwhile, the government made an effort to make the people feel safer. In order to do so, a new state-financed app had been introduced, a few weeks back. It is called Nogor.
The app helps people to track their close ones, find location, and anonymously make complaints. In times of emergency- users can also notify their family members about their whereabouts. Also on the other hand the app can help people to notify each other about certain problems like- road accidents, drain blockage, etc.
This whole initiative totally goes well with the government’s vision of digital Bangladesh. Even though many might not know how to use or have access to the app. But nevertheless the app, so far has been positively received by users.
The app can also work outside of Dhaka. Annisul Huq the mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation claimed that the app will work anywhere in the world. It is indeed a great sight to see authorizes taking initiatives through digital platforms, in the age of internet. Nogor is currently available in the appstore for free.
