Instant messaging app launched for Govt. officials

Bangladesh government has launched a mobile app for inter-connectivity among its officers. Prior to the weekly cabinet meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat, the prime minister opened the app, 'Alapon' on Monday. The app, with features of chat, online calls, video calls, group messaging, file sharing and location sharing, is available for free download in IOS and Google play store. Government officials will be able to download it with their National ID numbers on devices which uses the mobile phone number they provided for the official database. The app is secure enough for conversations and files and optimized to minimize cost for the government officers, says the Cabinet division statement. The app is well secured to keep the conversations and files safe. Also, it has been optimized to minimize cost for the government officers. The app can only be accessed by a phone number that has been given to a government officer – that is under government pay scale – for the position. Instant messaging app for some 14 lakh government officials which is expected to bring about a revolutionary change in intercommunication of government officials.
