Grameenphone launched GP Shop, its online e-commerce site. They Aim to sell mobile devices, wearables and modems throughout the country. This the first e-commerce site for telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh. GP Chief Marketing Officer, Yasir Azman inaugurated the venture on Tuesday, in Dhaka.
“GP Shop will provide secured service, and accept various forms of payments for our products. With the help of GP Express we will delivery our goods and services nationwide.” said Yasir Azman.
“It is one step closer towards becoming the preferred Digital Service Provider of our customers,” he added.
Back in June, they launched an e-commerce platform Kidorkar, which already Tk 75 lakh in sales volume.
Using GP Shop, customers can order products with authentic manufacturer’s warranty cards, across the country. And pay for it through flexible payment options like- bKash, SureCash, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, DBBL Nexus, Mycash and IBBL mCash. They can also pay through 24 EMIs on selected devices with selected credit cards. On top of that there is a 24×7 customer service.
Currently, the local e-commerce market is approximately valued at Tk 450 crore. And it has been growing massively every year. Grameenphone's entry into the e-commerce business will intensify the competition in the local market.
