Sublime Beauty of Lands and Rivers

Alliance Française de Dhaka, in association with Queenies’ Art, will be hosting a group painting exhibition titled ‘Sublime Beauty of Lands and Rivers’ at AFD’s La Galerie on Friday, July 15, 2016.
On November 14 to 16, 2015, an art camp titled Sublime Beauty of Lands and Rivers was coordinated by Queenies Art at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, where the participating artists were asked to focus on themes and topics related to nature and its magnificence. The artworks conceived and created from this art camp are to be exhibited at this exhibition.
The topics for the art camp mainly focused on rural greenery, the six seasons, landscapes, cityscapes and serene environments, as well as underprivileged people from different walks of life; including varied features of bucolic, urban and riverine life and more.
The participants of the camp included Abdul Mannan, Nasim A Nadvi, Nasima Khanam Queenie, Laila Sharmeen, Shameem Subrana, Ashraful Hasan, Uttam Kumar Roy, Azmeer Hossain, Anisuzzaman Mamun, Reza K Chowdhury, Istiaque Talukder, Abdullah Al Bashir, Shohag Parvez, Shahnoor Mamun, Md Mehedi Hasan, Zahangir Alom, Sultan Istiaque, Sourav Chowdhury and Fahmida Khatun.
The artists who took part in the programme are intense observers of their surrounding ambiances and they have meticulously projected their depths in the artworks. Their paintings are refreshing look at nature and its beauty, and will seek to provide spectators with the sense of pleasure and serenity that the paintings portray. Their depictions are lively and vigorous.
The inaugurating ceremony for the art exhibition will take place at 6:30 pm at La Galerie where Professor Abdul Mannan, former member of parliament and chairman of parliamentary standing committee, Ministry of Cultural Affairs will grace the occasion as the chief guest.Eminent artist Professor Jamal Ahmed and distinguished sculptor Ferdousi Priyavhashini will also be present as special guests at the event.
The exhibition will be open to all until Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
