CO-WORKING SPACES FOR THE NEW THINKERS

Young entrepreneurs and start-ups are becoming increasingly popular; and while such business organizations do not follow traditional office norms, they do need a space where they can work, socialize, extend their networks, share ideas and grow, both professionally and intra-personally.

Most start-up entrepreneurs work out of their residences or cafes. While the former might not be professional enough, the latter is also not feasible, cost-wise. This dilemma could be solved through co-working spaces. These are places that are open to start-ups, freelancers and young entrepreneurs for working, holding meetings, seminars or even workshops.

Co-working spaces are functional working spaces with the comfort of a coffee shop alongwith the added benefits of high-speed internet, light refreshments and in most cases, an inspiring interior. These spaces are available for a fixed membership fee or entry fee.The concept of co-working spaces is no alien to the hundreds of budding entrepreneurs of Dhaka. A couple of such initiatives that have made quite the name are featured below:

HubDhaka

While most other co-working spaces are available on hourly, daily or weekly basis, HubDhaka can be availed on a monthly basis. Opened in March 2014, this place is more suited for freelancers or young entrepreneurs who are in the intermediate phase of setting up their business and need a specific work place on a regular basis.

The space at HubDhaka comes with hi-speed internet facilities with backup connection, in-house multimedia system, multifunction printer (scanner, printer & copier) CCTV surveillance and lockers topped with bottomless coffee and other kitchen facilities. The seating arrangement is open, shared and can seat up to 70 people at any time.

Monthly membership fee at HubDhaka is BDT 3,500 and you can easily become a member by filling out an online membership form. A membership at HubDhaka also gives you free access to the meeting room for two hours per month and after that can be availed at 10% discounted rate. Other than that, a membership also provides 10% discount if you want to rent the place for events, and a 25% discount on the events that are held at HubDhaka every now and then.
