How many times have you caught yourself wishing you had a Jarvis?
Well, Microsoft might just have made your dream come true with Microsoft HoloLens. It is the latest technology by Microsoft that blurs the line between reality and virtual dimension to create your very own customized augmented reality.
While the concept of HoloLens is probably not the first of its kind, but it certainly is the most successful version so far. As described by Microsoft itself, “Microsoft HoloLens is the first fully untethered, holographic computer, enabling high-definition holograms to integrate with your world. Help develop the future of holographic computing.”
Analysts and techies think HoloLens could potentially be the groundbreaking technology that could become the next big thing after computers. It is believed that with the type of augmented reality and experience that HoloLens is able to create, it will completely change the way we have used computers till date.
HoloLens is a headgear that is complete with multiple cameras and in-built speakers that perfectly blends surrounding noise with the sound from the program. This technology is expected to bring revolutionize the field of videogames, product designs, education and architecture. The device is fully integrated with Windows 10 version, which means, if you have upgraded to Windows 10, you can use this device in coordination with your PC.
Imagine designing a motor arm; unlike the traditional way of rotating the design in your computer screen to get a 360° view, with HoloLens, you can actually drag the design out in the air and walk around it or move it around, even make adjustments as per your need! The first prototype of HoloLens was made public during the launch of Microsoft’s latest OS version, Windows 10 in early October last year. In the same session, journalists present at the event explained their experience to be “flat-out magical”. They were given a chance to live in the Minecraft world, Skype in futuristic style and walked around Mars; all with the segmented reality that was created by HoloLens.
The ‘HoloLens Development Edition’ is expected to be released in January for the market price of USD 3000.
